Funny kidspeak

I'm carrying Leila out to the car this morning and she points and animatedly says "there's a Mickey!" I pause for a beat then take note that a red MINI Cooper had just driven past. I can only assume that since she associates Mickey and Minnie (of the mouse variety) as a pair that her cute little brain just grasped at the wrong name to identify the car. And yes, she knows what a Mini is because her mother still narrates absolutely every mundane detail to her as we go about our days. Further, she knows that her 6 foot 4 Papa would not fit in a Mini. We have some very insightful conversations during our half mile commute to daycare!
